I finally put aside some time that I normally waste on stupid stuff and watched 'The Need to Grow' . It is about an hour and a half, very beautifully filmed, very informative, and inspiring because just part way through I wanted to jump, run outside and work in my garden. And it is historical since it documents some events that actually did occur, and features real people that are trying to make a difference in the world.
You need an email and a first name which might not even have to be real, although mine were. You get three days to watch this film, although I watched it all the way through at one sitting with a few breaks.
All that having been said, it seems to be basically a sales pitch for access to their online database; one-time cost about 67 dollars which also includes the film. Otherwise you can have permanent lifetime access to the film for 7.00 all of which is a very good deal for what you're getting. I didn't like that all the info is online only, but some transcripts and mp3's are included. And perhaps some day in the future this info might become available in a format more durable. That 67.00 price is for three days after you sign up for the film otherwise it is almost 200.00 dollars but even that is a good deal for what you get.
They are associated somehow with 'the Food Revolution Network' co-founded by Ocean Robbins which also has online goodies for download and some group you can join for over 200.00 per year which I don't know what you get for that.
At the end of the day, I'm not sure that that either group offer anything that you cannot find for free across the internet although it would take a lot of time and navigation to get it all.
I rate it nine out of ten stars only because it is all online only. You know, 'You will own nothing and you will be happy... . These products would make nice gifts to people or schools etc if there was a way to do that.
