"Every day 80 organ transplants take place in the USA". "In 2002 the United Network for Organ Sharing had a waiting list for 79,523 major organs". Most donors are men under 50. NO donors are dead; they all must be 'alive' at least in the legal sense in that their hearts must be beating and their lungs breathing --even if by means of a machine--when they come to crack one open for that first organ. If you die in a small town like mine, don't worry you usually won't be a donor they usually don't have the ability to keep you 'alive' until the transplant teams arrive.
The need for organs has become so urgent that in some countries all adult citizens are automatically considered organ donors unless they wade through lines and paperwork to opt themselves out. Dunno if it applies to minors. Also don't know if it applies to passing-thru foreignors. As far as I know it has not yet happened here in the USA.
"President Joe Biden’s 2024 budget proposal sought increased funding for organ procurement and transplantation – a total of $67 million – and that it requests that Congress update decades-old rules around appropriations and contracts for organ transplants in order to increase competition."
And now for the USA's border issue. The borders are open and millions of people aged 20 to 40 are stampeding through. An unknown but probably phenominal amount of fentanyl is also coming through those same borders, enough to kill every human on earth once or twice over to hear some say it.
Lots of people now on the donation rolls whether they like or know it or not. Lots of young healthy bodies. Lots of fentanyl and drug overdoses and deaths.
Organ shortage problems solved.
